Weekend breaks to Krakow
If you live in Poland, you have no excuse not to visit Krakow on a weekend break. This
unofficial cultural capital of Poland is chock full of things to do on weekend breaks from visiting
museums, to seeing famous religious buildings—the city is called another Rome, or visiting the
University of Krakow, the second oldest university in Eastern Europe after Charles University
in Prague. The old town is considered a World Heritage Site, with the Wawel Castle as its
most famous landmark. If your weekend break is one that likes to explore Jewish history, you
should visit the Old Synagogue and the Temple Synagogue. Krakow has a large and vibrant
Jewish community prior to the Nazi invasion during WWII and that shows in its many beautiful
synagogues. Also while on a weekend trip here visit Krakow’s most famous church bell, the
Zygmut. Finally, no weekend break to Krakow would be complete without going to Planty Park,
which replaces the old city wall with a green space that encircles the old town.
Staying in Krakow on your Weekend Trip
At some point in all of our lives, the idea of staying in a hotel becomes boring and ordinary for
weekend trips. You have the same sized room, with the same sized bathroom and a concierge
at the front to greet you. Luckily for weekend breaks, this doesn’t have to be your own option.
There are several Cracovians around the city who sign up to host short stay and weekend trip
taking travellers. If you stay with them you are bound to get advice about the best places to go
in the city, how to get there and which places to avoid. In fact, on Wimdu may of the people
who choose to use our services to stay with individuals find that they keep returning to the
place and staying with the same people on weekend breaks and business trips. Best of all, the
cost of staying with a Cracovian on a weekend break is cheaper than staying in a hotel and even
a hostel.
