Description
Luxurious apartment on the canal overlooking Rijksmuseum. In the middle of everything yet quiet and peaceful.
In a classic 19th century building, up one flight of stairs you find a fully equipped apartment (50 sqm.) with separate double bedroom. In the gorgeous lounge you find two single pull out futons for additional guests. Also built in is a small kitchen unit with fridge, great Nespresso coffeemaker, toaster and even two hotplates for some simple home-cooking. In the bedroom is the great shower room and separate toilet. You'll have Wifi acces throughout the apartment.
The most stunning feature, besides the ornamental ceiling dating back to 1874, must be the sweeping view of the Rijksmuseum just across the canal. Enjoy some afternoon sun on the front balcony taking it all in.
Besides being steps away from Rijksmuseum, Van Goghmuseum and recently reopened Stedelijk Museum, the Spiegel art district is also around the corner. Though you might also enjoy taking a look around our own art gallery on the ground floor.
The world famous Concertgebouw, also on Museumplein, houses one of the worlds greatest orchestras, so it is definitely worth booking your concert tickets in advance.
Across Museumplein is the upscale shopping district on P.C. Hooftstraat with all major designers and jewelers represented.
Also within a short walking distance is the lively De Pijp district with the renowned Albert Cuyp street market and numerous cafés, bars and restaurants.
The Leidseplein area has theaters, cinemas, clubs and many restaurants and bars, all within a 10 minute walk.
On a sunny day enjoy a stroll around nearby Vondelpark. Also great for joggers. If you enjoy swimming a beautifully renovated indoor pool is just across the street.
Renting a bike will get you anywhere in the city within 10 to 15 minutes. Or get on board one of the canal boats that dock across the street to take you through the beautiful canal district.
Tram and bus stops are within walking distance with tramlines connecting to Central Station (trams 4, 16, 24 and 25) and across Amsterdam (trams 3, 7, 10 and 12). There is also a direct bus line taking you to and from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Paid parking on the streets as well as in a major underground parking garage on Museumplein.
