We arrived late in Perth and had trouble with our rental car so that we were not really happy that our phone call to tell about the delay was not answered by Kurt.
When we arrived at Kurt's place we first knocked on the wrong door only to find a young innocent couple whom we obviously stopped from making love. Still they explained what door to knock at, which was eventually successful when a younger Asian looking woman, who never explaned what relation she was to Kurt opened the door and showed us room 2 and pointed out to us where the (shared) bathroom and the kitchen was. We were too tired to ask why she assigned room 3 to us but it didn't matter anyways because the next morning we met the young woman who stayed in room 2 with her boyfriend in the bathroom. Unfortunately and embarasingly enough we found her naked as she had forgotten to put the brickstone (picturesquely wrapped into a green t-shirt) that Kurt had provided to keep the bathroom door shut as the lock was obviously broken.Still we remained on good terms with the couple, especially because there was nobody to listen to our complaints for they told us that Kurt was on holiday and that the woman we had met the night before was hardly available.
Sleeping is usually no problem for us but if you can feel every single spring in your mattress it will be kind of difficult even with jetlag to fall and stay asleep. Again there was no host to receive our complaints.
The bathroom and the kitchen did not really look tidy which was a surprise as the 25 house rules hanging almost everywhere suggested that untidy people were not entitled to use the bathroom, toilet or kitchen, even their bedrooms.
On our second evening some magic hand must have tidied what could be tidied, though though the shower was still stained and the water in the sink stayed for ages.
Before we could get ready to leave we made the aquaintance of the successors to our room who did not hesitate to inspect their future habitat before we had packed (at 9 a.m). They seem to be keen on rooming in as they thought it would be a real upgrade to the room they had had at Kurt's mother who was having a similar apartment house. They seemed to be so familiar with the circumstances that that readily accepted our keys as there was nobody at Kurt's home anyways.(The Asian looking lady was taking the dog for a walk (?)).
Eventually we were glad not to have met Kurt - it might have been a disaster.
