Registration/Payments & Fees.
These terms and conditions apply to all guests, sponsors, and invitees who shall be jointly and severally liable for all charges incurred by any of them hereunder, and any increased rate due to additional guests or change in length of stay. A security deposit authorization of $30 per night, but at least $200, unless specially otherwise set must be authorized upon check-in, however since authorizations last only up to 30 days, if your stay is over 25 nights, the security deposit shall be a refundable charge to your credit card upon check in. Essex Manor accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover. A valid photo ID (passport, drivers license or ID card) is required of each guest upon check in. If the security authorization cannot be paid by credit card at check-in, or if a valid unexpired photo ID is not presented, or if the photo or signature does not match the credit card, the guest may not check in, and any deposit will only be refunded to the extent we are able to re-rent the room for the dates reserved, less administrative costs. We do not accept cash.
Affordable Hotel Apartment Terms.
Essex Manor provides affordable accommodations and one free parking space per hotel apartment. Hotel does not provide any room supplies beyond an initial small courtesy sample of coffee, toiletries, toilet paper, etc. No gratuities are allowed; hotel room housekeeping and bellmen services are not provided; guests must tote their own bags; there is a coin-operated laundry room; and there are fully furnished kitchens instead of room service.
Extending Stay. A stay may be extended only upon written confirmation by Essex Manor and only if it will not interfere with Essex Manor’s honoring of prior reservations.
Checking In/Out Appointments. Check in must occur by appointment with the hotel manager after 3:00 p.m. Check out must occur by appointment by 11:00 a.m. The fee for late check-ins between midnight and 2:00 a.m. will be $10 and $15 after 2:00 a.m.
Right to Refuse Service. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone without a reason. We may choose not to rent to anyone too close to the requested stay or to anyone under 21, and if we choose to rent under such circumstances, we may require a sponsor and/or a greater security deposit.
Liability. We shall bear no liability in excess of a refund of amounts paid if a hotel apartment is not available when planned for any reason including but not limited to an Act of God, a need for repair, or in the very unlikely event of having to remove a guest who has overstayed, or refusal of service.
No Smoking in Rooms or Common Areas. As a courtesy to non-smokers and for safety purposes, smoking is not allowed in the hotel apartments or within common areas. However, guests may smoke on the front porch of the hotel where there is a bench and ashtray. If a guest smokes in a room, at least $100.00 will be charged for the cleaning, etc., to remove the stench.
No Lifeguard on Duty and Requirement to Supervise Children. Guests understand that there is no lifeguard on duty in the gated Jacuzzi area which is supposed to remain locked, but which could be left open by a guest. Guests will assure that any children they bring into the hotel will be supervised at all times in all areas of the hotel, and particularly in or near the jacuzzi area.
Payment for Removal or Damage to Hotel Property or Other Amounts Due. Hotel apartments are carefully inspected and inventoried before and after occupancy. A guest and sponsor shall be liable and their credit cards and security deposits may be charged upon discovery of any hotel property removed or damaged, any mechanical or plumbing problems, including those caused by foreign objects dropped into a low flow toilet, and any extraordinary cleaning expenses including laundry stain removal. Charges shall include all required labor and incidental expenses to repair or replace, including administrative work, and all resulting losses to the hotel, including lost income.
Misconduct, Waste, Nonpayment or Overstay.
Guests shall not waste resources, utilities, or leave air conditioning, heat, lights, or appliances on when guests are gone. Guests shall be charged a minimum of $5.00 for each incidence of such waste. No guest shall disturb the peace, create a nuisance, damage, stain, or remove property, fail to maintain premises in a sanitary, healthful condition, or engage in any illegal activities. No parties are allowed on the premises. No pets of any kind are allowed on the premises. If a guest or invitee fails to check out in accordance with the reservation, the guest may be removed and charged removal and for he overstay. If a guest has not paid all charges incurred, or engages in what the hotel deems misconduct, or violates any of these terms and conditions, the hotel shall have the right to immediately remove such guest and/or invitees and their personal belongings at their expense, and to charge guests for any resulting expenses and/or rental loss. Security, police and/or governmental entities may be involved at the hotel’s discretion.
Vehicles Parked in Hotel Parking Lot.
A vehicle parked in the hotel parking lot is parked at the guest’s/vehicle owner’s risk, and the hotel shall not be liable for any damage/loss. Guests are prohibited from the sale, rental, or transfer of their right to occupy a parking space, and if any vehicle is not parked in its assigned space or if any vehicle other than the guest’s designated vehicle is left in the hotel parking lot without hotel’s written consent, the vehicle may be removed or towed at guest’s/sponsor’s/owner’s expense.
Property Left Behind or Late Arriving Mail.
If any property is left behind, we will make reasonable efforts to advise the owner before disposing of same after 14 days. Essex Manor cannot accept or hold mail or packages for anyone who is not a guest when the mail arrives.
Privacy Policy.
We will protect your privacy by not sharing your personal and credit card information with any other outside entity.
Entire Agreement/Attorney’s Fees.
This is the entire agreement between guests/sponsors/invitees and the hotel. If any terms or conditions are found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms and conditions will remain in effect. Any waiver of any term, shall not constitute waiver of any other term. In the event of a breach of the terms and conditions, all parties agree that the action must be filed and litigated in Los Angeles, California. The prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney’s fees, costs, and expenses, from the other party or parties, whether a court action is filed or not.
