Description
This newly renovated, quiet studio (1-room) apartment (approx. 38m²) in the Berlin-Kreuzkölln area is bright & light with lovely wooden floorboards. The main room has a double bed (160 x 200) and a sofa (120x200) where an additional guest can sleep.
The separate kitchen is fully equipped with a 4-ring ceramic hob and oven, a refrigerator, coffee and espresso machine, toaster as well as TV, DVD, USB surf stick (internet) are also provided. The bathroom has a shower, basin and WC.
The apartment is located in the famous district of Kreuzberg. While Berlin was divided, this neighbourhood was a border area of West Berlin, where the rents were low enough to attract artists, dropouts and immigrants. For this reason, Kreuzberg has been known ever since for its multicultural flair and alternative subculture. After the Fall of the Wall Kreuzberg is now situated in the center of the reunited city.
Night owls can enjoy the legendary `Kreuzberg nights’ especially in the area around Mehringdamm, Bergmannstraße and in the Oranienstraße. In Kreuzberg you will find clubs like ‘SO36’, ‘Watergate’ or ‘SchwuZ’: this area has something to suit everyone’s taste.
If you want to chill out, the ‘Victoriapark’ is a popular relaxation area in the western part of the district. Here you will find the eponymous Kreuzberg Hill, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view. During the summer, an artificial stream flows down from the top in the form of a waterfall. Also the Görlitzer Park in the east of the quarter is a beloved summer meeting place for young people.
Kreuzberg is well connected to the neighbouring districts through the U-Bahn lines U1, U6, U7 and U8, and the S-Bahn lines S41 and S42 (circle line).
