The apartment is very centrally located on a busy street but is on the 6th and top floor to the back of the building and is perfectly quiet. It is also the farthest apartment from the elevator. There are 2 subway stations within a short walk which take you to the central train station and Oktoberfest within 3 stops. It is also the same line that goes out to the Fair/Messe grounds. There is a grocery store on the ground floor as well as numerous charming Cafes, Restaurants and Bars within a few minutes walk. There is no better way to explore Munich than by Bike. I have a Mens' and Ladies' bike which you can use for a very small fee. Munich is one of the most Bike friendly cities in the world. There are bike paths everywhere. From the Apartment you can ride within 10 minutes to the English Garden, Center of Town and Olympia Park all on Bile Paths. Across the street next to McDonalds is a small Italian Café Bistro and next to that is a small Italian Café with excellent Ice Cream. Continue 50 meters on Schleissheimerstr. On the left is an Indian restaurant and next to that a Vietnam/Thai restaurant. Continue another 100 meters on the other side of the street and you will find a nice Chinese restaurant. Come out of the building make a right and again the first right and at the next corner you will find an excellent Mediteranee/Italian restaurant also with outdoor seating.
Come out of the house and make a left and you will find a Turkish Döner fast food place, a German Café Backery and 4 blocks down is the Görreshof which is a typical German Beer hall style restaurant. Excellent Beer, good typical German food, a great atmosphere and also a beer garden. Across the street in the department store is a Cafeteria style restaurant where you can eat very cheaply. On the ground floor of the house is a supermarket with a separate Bakery inside where you can also grab a Coffee to go.
To Central Station, Oktoberfest and Messe (Fair Grounds)
