Stylish Double Room near City

Nice family with a cute daughter, had a restful night. A bit far from the airport (S$33 cab charge), but overall pleasant stay.

I stayed for 11 days in april 2012. It was a pleasant stay. The room was nice. During my stay there where more people staying there. Meeting different people was very interesting and educational. There is a separate bathroom for common use. Ian and his family have there own bathroom. You can use the kitchen if you want to cook, but across the street there is a supermarket, yummy foodcourts, fast food, bakery and restaurants in de mall. And it can be very cheap. In Clementi there is a MRT station which brings you to the city in 15-20 minutes. Every 5-10 minutes there is a train leaving the station. I had nice and interesting talks with Ian and his wife and they have a lovely daughter Phoebe; and yes she does cry sometimes, but every child of any age does. And I am a mum myself so it doesn’t bother me. Ian can provide you with information about things to see or do and about transportation. He has tickets to the swimming pool next to the building. Obviously there are rules and regulations, but I think that is normal and you abide by them out of respect for your host and his family. I had a lovely time in Singapore and I had a pleasant stay with Ian and his family.

* Good location near a hawker center, supermarket, and MRT. * Ian asked for my passort 3 times within 24 hours of my arrival. I understand once to match my name to the reservation but 3 times is excessive. (note: he did not do this to all tenants) * Ian told me what buses would get me where I needed to go, which was helpful. However, he gave personal tours of the area and offered breakfast to other tenants on their first day but not to me. * Ian and Lillan have a sweet and friendly little girl 2 yrs old. However, she does cry frequently every 3 to 4 hours throughout the night, so if you are a light sleeper please consider this. * Lillian (Ians wife) was exteremly rude to me. Half way into the duration of my stay, she shouted at me for 15 minutes and told me could not wait until I left. Hopfully you are treated better than I was. I followed all house rules and though Ian was pleasant, his wife was extremely rude. - American MBA Student

me and my partner experienced a pleasant and warm stay, bedroom was neat and comfortable, everything was complete, shower had hot water which was great! clementi heights is across fairprice grocery store which is open 24hrs which was so convenient. oh and its near the mrt (clementi station) which s excellent, made our stay so easyyyy!!!! i very much enjoyed my stay, and i would consider going back soon. thanks Ian and family :)

Stayed 13 nights and enjoyed my time staying here. Room was as advertised, very clean and well maintained, with a comfortable bed and a handy location. Wi-Fi provided free. Close to Clementi Mall & MRT - a 5-6 minute walk away, and hawkers market for cheap, good quality meals). Hosts Ian & Lillian were friendly and very helpful, and toddler daughter Phoebe was no trouble at all. Recommend this accommodation as pleasant, convenient and cost effective.

Great people and a good hospitality. Further you can chat we them about everthing very pleasant indead. Great room and clean also the toilets and the washroom.

100 % advisable!!! Perfect host in Singapore. Comfortable atmosphere. Great situated for a short or long stay. Public transportations, supermarkets, restaurants and food courts close by.

I had a good time in Singapore EXCEPT my eight nights at this home. I was uncomfortable and had to quickly get use to whispering as my room was adjacent to the master bedroom shared by my host and his family. I was awakened frequently at 2am at nights to a crying two year old. The wife has NO personality and when she was home she infrequently exchanged words and rarely smiled. I felt unwelcome the whole time. Both Ian and his wife should NOT be in the hospitality business as they both need to receive intense training on providing service and accommodation to paying guests. My cost averaged $95 a day and for a few dollars more my roommate and I should have stayed at a hotel and really enjoyed our trip. The interior of the apartment was OK; however the outside and elevators were mediocre. I considered it a personal sacrifice to be under the roof of unwelcoming hosts, who benefited from my money and obviously showed a preference for the Chinese guests. I could NOT in good conscience recommend this property to anyone visiting Singapore.

Spent an excellent 4 weeks in Ian's house. You will be sharing bathroom, kitchen and living room with 2 other people and if you are following different schedules, there should be no problem with the bathroom. Being with 2 other housemates was a bonus where you can socialise. Transport wise, 40 min from Changi airport by taxi (28 sgd) and 1hr from clementi to Changi airport by mrt (2 sgd). The host was welcoming, friendly, helpful and gives direction as to where is the cheapest, decent places to hang out; will help you set up in the house. He offered homemade Singaporean food and showed the Singaporean way of living. In terms of location, it excellent if you are going to NUH/NUS which is a 15 min bus ride away. There is cheap hawker food and 'fairfield' grocery shop nearby. The swimming pool across the road was provided free of charge by Ian. The room was exactly as it is in the pictures; spacious and cosy. House rules were also important to be respected to keep everybody happy in the house, like turning the air con off when you go out and keeping the bathroom clean. I would recommend staying there. Had a good time.
