House rules

This is not a hotel, or a 'flat/house' sharing arrangement. You are guest in my home in what i understand to be the true spirit of WIMDU so it is appreciated when guests say hello when they arrive home in the evenings and announce that they are off in the mornings.

This also allows me to know where Emily-dog is at all times and know that she has not been accidentally let out of the front door.

Bear in mind that this house was built in the Victorian era and still has many of the original features. If you are looking for modern, this is not the place for you.

I do not allow personal use of the washing machine - there are laundromats in the area.
There is no cooking allowed in my kitchen.

Most of my guests have become dear friends and we have all been known to cook together which is a different concept altogether but this is by invitation only and not to be assumed. Many of my guests who now live in the UK come to visit.

Most guests have mobile phones so the use of the telephone is NOT permitted except in exceptional circumstances and then must be reimbursed.

A very pleasant, comfortable home with a bed that will encourage "sleeping in". London was quite cold during my visit and I looked forward to returning to Liz and her warm, happy home. She treated me as a long lost family member or dear friend and was eager to make my stay as comfortable as possible.

Het B&B ligt gunstig i.v.m.

Bend it like Peckham A welcoming hug from host Elizabeth and a comforting sniff by old dog Emily: you'll feel at home straightaway in this Peckham, South London setting. The bedroom is not too big, but ever so cosy and there's a large, spotless clean bathroom with a tub at the back. Elizabeth's breakfast is a splendid wake-up call: your fresh fruit, juice, toast, eggs and cereals, just what the doctor ordered and all served a a table for two in the kitchen. Talking to her she'll give you plenty of advice about what to do and what not. And the neighbourhood, hey some people may be baffled about Peckham, since it's a melting pot really of ethnicities from around the globe. We loved it! Finally, Moncrieff Street (probably named after English writer William Thomas Moncrieff or maybe ornithologist Perrine Moncrieff from New Zealand or pick your own from a dozen names at Wiki) is a three minute walk from the railway station, conveniently connecting in either way to Victoria or London Bridge in a 15 minute ride. The trip to London was our first Wimdu-Travel and we where realy glad to have liz as a realy great host. It was not only the very good breakfast, but also the hints, where to go and how to get there. The whole house was very clean and our room nice. Busses and trains are easy to reach, goes realy often and you can go with them wherever you want to go. Thanks to Liz for the graet week, we would do it every time the same way! Ruth und Moritz from Darmstadt

I stayed with Liz for a short visit to London last week! Liz found the perfect balance of being actively helpful and informative without intruding on my private space. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable and warm as the London autumn appraoched. Peckham is a vibrant and diverse area with many smaller eateries and pubs. Do not be put off by the very modest entrance to what appears to be a very small Victorian house. Inside the house opnes up into a spacious home into which Liz invited me with openess and generosity. Thank you; it was very enjoyable to get ot know you and Peckham! I will be back! Christopher

Our experience with Windu couldn't have started in a better way! Liz is a great host and also a very kind, fun and interesting person. The house is lovely and makes you feel at home. We already miss those delightful breakfasts and the morning conversations where we would share stories and experiences! We are definetely looking forward to return anytime soon and keep good friendship. A big hug to Liz and to Emily (the dog) :-)

Liz was the most wonderful host I could ever have imagined. We felt at home, not only because of her attentive attitude towards us but also thanks to her interesting and intriguing conversation. We met some of her family and friends and really spent a nice time with them. My daughter was delighted of her stay, of Liz and Emily's company and we both are looking forward to coming back to London and possibly staying again at Liz's house. I highly recommend to whom might be interested not just to a comfortable stay, but also to a warm humanly touch!
