Let's Get Practical:
At the top of Hillel Street you arrive at King George Street. Several buses stop here taking you to the central bus station (and on to all of Israel!), or to Jerusalem's neighbourhoods (Mea Shearim, Ramot, Har Nof etc.). If you need directions: just ask because most Jerusalemites speak English and love to help if they can!
Area Info
Location:
Hillel Street is close to Ben Yehuda Street pedestrian mall and King George Street. These streets have a large selection of cafes and restaurants (many kosher choices). The Great Synagogue and the Sheraton Plaza are located on King George Street just a few minutes walk away. The new exclusive Mamilla Shopping Mall and the Old City are also within easy walking distance.
What is the area like?
Ben Yehuda Street pedestrian mall is the centre of the New City. Here you have many shops, restaurants, cafes and plenty of sightseeing. Shops are open until late and there are lots to see and do both in the day and night!
What shall I have for lunch?
Cafe Hillel is directly across the street and you can make arrangements for breakfast to be delivered everyday with the homeowner.
In addition to the many kosher establishments on Hillel Street there are some options for eating that are open on Saturdays (there is also a 24hr convenience store). An Israeli / Italian restaurant "Focaccia" is around the corner (on Rabbi Akiva Street) and serves tasty brick oven baked focaccia, seafood, steaks and a good selection of sandwiches and salads.
Another street for small boutique shopping, restaurants and cafes is down Hillel Street to Yoel Salomon Street and Nahalat Shiv'a. Here you can find both meat and dairy kosher restaurants and also Jerusalem's only 24hr brassiere (not-kosher) and some popular night spots.
Thank you very much for your interest in our properties. We look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
