Description
The light-filled penthouse apartment in the center of Offenbach - located next to Busing Park and the Sheraton Offenbach directly adjacent to the S-Bahn station "Marktplatz" - measures 49 square meters, consisting of a large room (divisible) with an open fitted kitchen / entrance area, bathroom with bathtub in which you can also take a shower, 2 balconies with panoramic views in two directions: view of the Main landscape and over the roofs of Offenbach to the wooded hillocks of the region.
Loosely marked off from the spacious working/living area you'll find the sleeping area. It's divided by cloth/fabric and adjacent to an outside miniature garden on the smaller balcony, equipped with tatami mats and an original Japanese futon sleeping place. Back-friendly, ground-level bedroom - starting the next day rested and refreshed! This is true not only for our Japanese guests.
The rest of the flooring in the apartment is made of hardwood (kitchen and bath tiled), the kitchen - equipped with hot plates, stove, fridge, kettle, rice cooker, oven toaster and coffee maker - offers access to the large roof balcony, with planting pots of grasses and bamboo, and the opportunity of dining with views to the green river side of Offenbach. This balcony is not private - other tenants of the house can access the roof as well - though this apartment has direct access to the balcony. There are doors leading to the staircase but it's rather seldom that other people pass through - it leads you to the roof. The second smaller balcony is totally private with a view into the city itself.
The spacious living / work area, separated by flexible room divider, is furnished with hand-selected single items still scattered loosely (dining / work area with chairs, cupboard/cabinet with drawers, radio / CD player, desk lamp); Guest bed on request; flat Internet Access / washing machine usage: on request.
Towels and fresh bed-linen is all inclusive of course.
The apartment for 1-2 persons is part of an art project in the German-Japanese Cultural Exchange: In collaboration with students from various disciplines there are currently five apartments in the making, all of them representing different authentic and genuine Japanese living styles. The special feature of the concept is that this is not a calculated cool design, but an authentic and cozy atmosphere is desired, in which Japanese and Western style elements, tradition and modernity combine casually.
Infrastructure:
Shops and plenty of restaurants are very close - in two minutes you are right in the middle of the pedestrian area of Offenbach with all the shops. Also you're only five minutes walking distance from the Main river, which invites for jogging, biking and walking.
Grocery shopping until midnight (a three minutes walk to the supermarket); late shopping kiosk in the station until 2 am. Easy train connection to Frankfurt / Exhibition (messe frankfurt); travel time to Ffm-Hauptwache: 12-15 minutes/ to Ffm-Fair 20-25 minutes.
There is public parking in the house, but you will need to pay for it and it closes at night. Nearby free parking can sometimes be a hassle. Have a look in Französisches Gäßchen behind the building - you might find something there.
