Directions to our home from Melbourne Airport:
When arriving at Melbourne Airport you can choose between car, taxi or skybus and tram to travel to our place. Please do not travel in a shuttle bus as the trip time is greatly extended by numerous hotel stops in the city before arriving at our place in South Melbourne. We do appreciate your consideration of our time and our other commitments by not unnecessarily prolonging your arrival to our home once you have landed in Melbourne.
If travelling in a rental car take the Airport to Melbourne freeway that leads into Citylink (tollway) closer to the city. Citylink takes you over the Bolte Bridge on the west side of the city of Melbourne. From here you take the left lane to enable you to exit to Kings Way.
Once on the Kings Way exit ensure your car is travelling in the right lane. This is particularly important as you come to the end of the exit ramp. After you turn left into Kings Way you will need to immediately position the car in the far right lane of Kings Way in order to turn right into Heather Street (Sturt St) at the first intersection which is just a few metres from the exit ramp. Follow Heather St across the round-about at Park Street then drive past a small park and childrens' playground on the left side of the street. Cross the next roundabout into Eastern Road, then turn right Into Cobden Street. Number 88 is on the right hand side in this first block between Eastern Rd and Moray St.
If using Skybus exit the Southern Cross bus terminal into Spencer St. Turn right and walk to the intersection of Spencer and Collins Streets. Cross Spencer and Collins St and wait at the tram stop on the safety island in the middle of Collins Street for the number 112, 'St Kilda Beach' tram. This tram will immediately turn into Spencer St once you are on board and travel south to South Melbourne enroute to St Kilda. You will each need approximately $5 in one and two dollar Australian coins to buy each tram ticket at the ticket machine on the tram (Zone1, 2 Hour ticket, or Zone1 Daily ticket). The tram will travel over the Yarra River, past Crown casino, South Bank and along the shopping strip of Clarendon Street South Melbourne. Alight at the Albert Road T intersection, which is at the far end of Clarendon Street and across from the Albert Park with sports and recreation facilities. Once off the tram cross to the curb from the safety island, then keep walking along the Albert Road service lane until you reach Moray Street. Turn left into Moray St, walk a short way to the pedestrian crossing, cross the road and continue along Moray St on the right hand side of the road. At Cobden Street turn right. You will find number 88 on the left hand side of the street a little way along this block.
