Surry Hills is a fun and relax place to be. You will come across young families from all around the world strolling down the street, old emigrants sitting on their front porches, busy young achievers with the inevitable briefcase and cafes that serve the ‘best cafe’ in the world. Young chefs have moved here since 2006 and you can try them all. The Marquee, a French restaurant 2 min from the apartment will amaze you, you could try Assiette, another French one, Tabou, Foveaux restaurant or you can eat at the Bentley, or at Bill Granger or Billy Kwong. You've got grocers, delis, and florists. If you are not so loaded you can eat Thai food for $7.00, Indian for $10, a delicious kebab from the old Turks, there is an extraordinary range of eateries here – from tiny Lebanese takeaways to upmarket Modern Australian restaurants and some excellent pub dining rooms, such as the Dolphin, the Clock, the Hopetoun, offering meals at very reasonable prices.
