This is the SoBro Guest House Located in the South Bronx aka SoBro, New York, a hustling & bustling trendy and hip neighborhood. Just search SoBro Bronx, NY and you will see what the area has to offer. We are walking distance (1 Block) to the Antique District which boasts an assortment of Cafes, Lounges, Bars, Art Galleries and Antique shops. Alexander's Bar on Alexander Ave, The Piano Factory, Bruckner Bar and Grill, DJ EMBE just to name a few.
You can walk to Manhattan over the Willis Ave Bridge which is located on the corner. Or jump on the # 6 Train and you are only one stop away from the City of NY! The # 6 train is located approximately 4 blocks away or a 5 minute walk. Yankee Stadium is about a half hour walk or 10 minute train ride. And if you don't feel like going to NYC you have lots of shopping right here in the neighborhood. The Guest House is easily accessible from JFK, Newark, and La Guardia Airports via the Metro so you do not have to waste money on taking a taxi.
We would advise that only the adventurous and more open minded stay here. We are ideally located very close to Manhattan. Literally a 5 minute walk over the Willis Avenue Bridge and only 1 stop away via the underground. The neighborhood is considered very safe. It is jumping and unbelievably vibrant and once you step outside the Guest House you will be living amongst real New Yorker's, not tourists. This may be enticing to some but scary to others, so take it for what its worth.
The building itself is very safe and secure. Ray lives on premise and can deal with any issues should they arise. The room is private with your own lock and key. Fresh bed linens and towels are provided. Share 2 full baths and basic cooking facilities with the other guests. We have long term international students and tourists staying with us from all over the world. The room has a twin single size bed and is located on the 2nd Floor of a renovated Mott Haven Brownstone. There is a mini-fridge and 32" Plasma TV located inside the room. But your in New York... how much time do you plan to spend inside??
