We have been successfully renting our Barcelona home for over 7 years and in this time have received very many happy guests from all over the world, we hope to welcome you very soon! Our apartment is located in a typical period block dating back to 1860.
Located on one of the most central streets in the downtown Raval/ Sant Antoni neighbourhood popular with locals and tourists alike, much nicer than the Gotic or Barceloneta. It is incredibly well located, with buses, metros and trains less than 3 minutes walk away (nearest metro is Universidad). The airport bus stops at Plaza Universidad and is less than 5 minutes walk to the property taking just 25 minutes to get to and from the airport. The famous Ramblas is a very pleasant 5 minutes walk away.
The immediate area has a good mix of bars, cafés and restaurants as well as art galleries, antique shops, funky boutiques, supermarkets and bakers – in fact, anything you could want in one street! Plaza Catalunya, the city´s most central square is just 8 minutes walk away.
Around the corner from the flat is Pla dels Angels – a big lively square with pavement cafés and restaurants and a few trendy shops. However, the focus of the square is MACBA, Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona. It´s a gleaming white stone and glass building and a great location for art buffs. In and around this square are also some very important medieval buildings, most famously the Angels Convent.
The apartment is on the fourth floor (no lift) of a 160 year old mansion block. The building was originally owned by a countess and when entering the main doors there is an elegant entrance with a large arched wooden doors.
Inside the flat there is a spacious open plan living area with adjacent kitchen (fully equipped - we love cooking!) which creates a contemporary dining and sitting room. This room has a large leather sofa, 42 inch plasma tv with free to view UK channels and dining table with 4 chairs. The flat has a great deal of natural light. There are sliding French windows onto the back inner well, with a clothes line to dry clothes – very useful for small items.
The master bedroom, which is off the living area, is a generous size (17m2) with original ceramic tiled floor, in here there are twin beds.This bedroom has a small balcony onto the main street (windows are all double glazed with blinds) with good views below and across the roof tops. It has air conditioning and a ceiling fan.
The second sleeping room also used as a reading room, has a very comfy king size sofa bed and a large ceiling fan over the bed for use in summer months.
The flat has one shower room, small but perfectly formed!
Added extras, air conditioning, high speed Wifi, English satellite TV, dvd and video players. Maps and guidebooks and personal recommendations for places to visit, eat and drink - we've lived here 10 years and know where to go!

NOTE: WE LIVE IN OUR APARTMENT WHEN IT IS NOT RENTED SO WE REQUEST CUSTOMERS TREAT IT WITH RESPECT BUT ARE WELCOME TO USE IT AS THEIR HOME TOO! WE HAVE A CAT AND SHE LIVES WITH US TOO AND WE TAKE HER WITH US WHEN WE ARE NOT THERE SO ANYONE WITH A SERIOUS PET ALLERGY SHOULD KNOW THIS BUT WE WELCOME GUESTS WHO WANT TO BRING THEIR PETS ALSO.
