New Fresh Apt in Wan Chai (1)

I stayed here with my boyfriend during one week. It was very clean and small (as it says on description). Location is worth paying for.

First of all, the room i had booked was not available at my arrival. Everything was completely unorganized, I had to move 2 times and the landlord constantly tried to hustle me. She offered me new contracts naming different prices by the day. On top of that my passport fell behind the bed in the apartment and I was not able to get it out of there because the bed was integrated into the wall. Wendy tried to charge me 5000HKD to give it back to me. Very disappointing experience.

Wendy has a number of properties in the Wanchai/Causeway Bay area and sent her maids to the bus stop when we arrived to carry our luggage. Her maid Yani and another one are very helpful and friendly. Wendy herself came to greet us in the flat. I had gone to Hong Kong with my grown up son and daughter for visiting family and tourism. Our stay was very comfortable and in fact for part of the tenure we were given a flat in Wanchai overlooking a sports ground with beautiful view of the buildings and hills in the background. Because of good nature of Wendy and Yani it felt as if we were living with family or friends. We will surely stay with Wendy in future. One minor suggestion that I have for Wendy is that if she could arrange regular toilet rolls in the toilets instead of the slim toilet rolls which run out pretty quickly and also make sure soap / handwash liquid etc. are available for the wash basin. These minor things did not bother us much as we did not expect five star service and were more than happy to have a family experience. Regards, Tanveer Ahmed, London

Great location right in Wan Chai. Given the option to change rooms if wanted, but the room was fine. Small but clean. Great if you're just looking for a place to spend a night or two. Easy to contact.

Great location. The internet is a bit temperamental and the water to the toilet was shut off for 4 days during my stay which was inconvenient. I never met Wendy but Yani her staff member was lovely, friendly and helpful. Towels and bedding could been changed more frequently.

OK, where do I start with this review? My husband and I were already in Hong Kong Mongkok area, and wanted stay on HK island for the last couple of nights. We booked this place the day before we were due to stay there. Our offer was accepted, hence payment would have been made automatically with my card details, but the host messaged me AFTER to say that she could offer me a private room for 700HK dollars. We assumed she wanted extra if we decided to go for a private bathroom. However, sharing an apartment and bathroom with other travellers didn’t bother us. I emailed the host to say we’re happy with the room we booked. She then explained that in the apartment, there were already about 12 people staying there and we’d have to share the bathroom and living room etc., hence her suggestion to give us a private bathroom and I quote “pay 300hk. Extra money to me”. She then sent another msg to ask if I’m coming with my boyfriend or friend (Right at the start I’d told her we were a married couple!!) and that the only thing she had left was two separate beds with a private bathroom. Again I told her we don’t mind sharing the bathroom!!!! On the day of arrival, I made sure I had the address, my MTR route planned out, with luggage in tow. Before getting on the MTR, I called the host in advance to let her know we were on our way. She didn’t direct us to the address wimdu had given us, instead she told us to get off at the MTR stop and walk to a different address. Luckily the address was on one of the main roads so we weren’t completely lost! At the location, one of the host’s employees showed us our room – a double room with a private bathroom. We explained to the employee that this was not what we had reserved online and if the host wanted extra payment, we weren’t giving it. She called her boss who tried to get us to pay an extra 100hk instead of the 300 she originally asked for!! (actually she originally asked for 700!) We refused and told her to give us the original room, that it was unfair to accept the payment online, then tell us AFTER that they gave our room to someone else, and then for them to ask us for extra payment?! Really?! The employee left us with the key to the room and said she’d speak to her boss, if there were any problems she’d call us. Despite there being a private bathroom, the stay was awful, it was freezing cold, there was no heating, no TV, no hairdryer nor Internet – oh wait, these amenities were at the apartment with the shared bathroom!! And for a lot less money! To top it off, there was an awful bloodstain in the bedsheets – which was hidden and tucked down the side of the bed. We were very disappointed with the stay, and hopefully this review will help and alert others.

Hello. I had a disapponting experience. I booked 9 nights room 13d4 with two months advance. When i arrived the cleaning girl told me that my room had a problem in the water heating. They moved me to room 4c. Much older, dirty, noisy room. No towels, bed sheets not changed, tv did not work, the table broken. After 5 nights they changed me to room 4g. The room was better but it had cockroaches. (not one. a few) 7 days later they repared room 13d4 and i was there two nights. This room is fine, worth its price. Clean and silent. Wendy returned me 60% of one night price for the inconvenience.

My trip to Hong Kong happened in excellent condition thanks to Wendy who ensured that everything was perfect for my stay. The apartments are functional and clean, ideally located in the district of Wan Chai where you can find different types of restaurants and commerce, with several transportation options nearby (tram, mtr, bus). Wendy was great hospitality, answering all my questions about the city and suggesting me the best transportation options possible. For my next trip to Hong Kong I know where I will stay :)
