The houseboat is a monumental, authentic ship built in 1927 with a beautiful Berkel motor that is still running, the only one in the Netherlands.

The boat is available for short stays but also for longer periods.
The captains cabin is in the authentic style that makes it a really special, romantic and origanal way of spending your holiday in Amsterdam.
A cosy sleepingcabin with a double bed and LCD with DVD, a sweet little living, seperate shower and toilet, refridgerator and microwave., central heating and an electric heater, so even in the winter its warm and cosy.

Note that: Its a special, authentic cabin and you are in the best area of Amsterdam for a great price, but don't expect de Hilton. It was really, 100 years ago, the captains cabin, therefore its about 1.80 metres high, with other areas where its 2.20 metres high and there is a small but steep stairs.
The houseboat is situated in the center, the middle of the Jordaan neighborhood, within walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station. The small houses are typical of a neighborhood built for the working class and migrants. In the sixties a large-scale renovation of the old buildings took place. Families with children left and entrepreneurs and students came to take their place. The Jordaan, bursting with intimate boutiques, café's and restaurants, is the ideal place to live!
Situated in the immediate vicinity are various places of interest and museums such as the Anne Frank House, the Westertoren, the Palace on Dam Square, Madame Tussauds and the trendy Westerpark with plenty of new places to eat and drink. The Jordaan itself is home to a number of old ‘hofjes', publicly accessible courtyards such as the Lindenhofje and the Looyershofje which are certainly worth a visit. On a Saturday you can combine a visit to a ‘hofje' with a stroll around the organic farmers' market or the Antiques/Brocante Market. Or wander around the famous 9 streets, picturesque shopping streets full of heritage-listed buildings. It's a trendy neighbourhood with flagship stores and branches of every luxury chain.
Amsterdam's vibrant night life is in close proximity to the boat. Around 10 minute walk ing away are the Leidseplein and the Rembrandtplein, where you'll find the bigger clubs like Jimmy Choo, The Escape and Club Air.
Amsterdam is yours to explore when you rent a bike from one of the nearby rental facilites. It's the perfect way to get around this lively city!
The houseboat is located within 10 minutes walking distance of Amsterdam Central Station. Trains depart from Schiphol Airport to Central Station 5 times per hour (20 minute journey). We can also arrange a transfer from or to the airport for € 35 and takes under 20 minutes (barring traffic jams).
Parking in the city centre is scarce and expensive (www.centrumparkeren.nl). There are some options in the vicinity:
Parking garage De Kolk
This parking garage is located on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal / Nieuwezijds Kolk behind the Royal Palace. It takes 8 minutes to walk from the parking garage to the houseboat.
Parking Amsterdam Centraal Station
This parking garage is located at Central Station approximately 10 minutes from the houseboat.

Had a great break of 5 nights on this boat. It was our first visit to Amsterdam and we should have equipped ourselves with a proper street map as what should have been a 10-15 minute walk from the station took us nearly.an hour - we got very lost! The boat was well equipped and in a great location - bought breakfast rolls/ croissants etc at the bakery just along from the boat. We were the perfect height for the boat (5ft 9 in) as it meant we could stand up inside and were able to jump up onto the loo. ok! We walked nearly everywhere, highlights were the Keukenhof
Gardens and the Anne Frank House. Thanks Wendy.
It's been a really nice stay and communication was perfect.
However if you're a tall person, you need to be aware that you'll have restrictions :)
Also the restroom is a nice experience.
For short trips highly recommended
The Boat was really really nice! The location was unreal, really close to everything, but still quiet. The Cabin itself was quaint, but lovely, the shower was surprisingly good (for a boat), and the bed was comfy. The host seemed nice, and was happy to help with anything we needed. Highlight was the boats deck in the mornings and evenings, beautiful setting to chill!
We had a fantastic 5 days on our barge! Wendy our host was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our cosy nights, very comfortable and location is one of the best spots to enjoy the city. Highly recommend.
Sehr netter kleiner romantischer Ort um Amsterdam kennenzulernen. Alles in unmittelbarer Nähe! Jederzeit wieder!
