A cosy sleepingcabin with a double bed and LCD with DVD, a sweet little living, seperate shower and toilet, refridgerator and microwave., central heating and an electric heater, so even in the winter its warm and cosy.

Note that: Its a special, authentic cabin and you are in the best area of Amsterdam for a great price, but don't expect de Hilton. It was really, 100 years ago, the captains cabin, therefore its about 1.80 metres high, with other areas where its 2.20 metres high and there is a small but steep stairs.
The houseboat is situated in the center, the middle of the Jordaan neighborhood, within walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station. The small houses are typical of a neighborhood built for the working class and migrants. In the sixties a large-scale renovation of the old buildings took place. Families with children left and entrepreneurs and students came to take their place. The Jordaan, bursting with intimate boutiques, café's and restaurants, is the ideal place to live!
Situated in the immediate vicinity are various places of interest and museums such as the Anne Frank House, the Westertoren, the Palace on Dam Square, Madame Tussauds and the trendy Westerpark with plenty of new places to eat and drink. The Jordaan itself is home to a number of old ‘hofjes', publicly accessible courtyards such as the Lindenhofje and the Looyershofje which are certainly worth a visit. On a Saturday you can combine a visit to a ‘hofje' with a stroll around the organic farmers' market or the Antiques/Brocante Market. Or wander around the famous 9 streets, picturesque shopping streets full of heritage-listed buildings. It's a trendy neighbourhood with flagship stores and branches of every luxury chain.
Amsterdam's vibrant night life is in close proximity to the boat. Around 10 minute walk ing away are the Leidseplein and the Rembrandtplein, where you'll find the bigger clubs like Jimmy Choo, The Escape and Club Air.
Amsterdam is yours to explore when you rent a bike from one of the nearby rental facilites. It's the perfect way to get around this lively city!
The houseboat is located within 10 minutes walking distance of Amsterdam Central Station. Trains depart from Schiphol Airport to Central Station 5 times per hour (20 minute journey). We can also arrange a transfer from or to the airport for € 35 and takes under 20 minutes (barring traffic jams).
Parking in the city centre is scarce and expensive (www.centrumparkeren.nl). There are some options in the vicinity:
Parking garage De Kolk
This parking garage is located on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal / Nieuwezijds Kolk behind the Royal Palace. It takes 8 minutes to walk from the parking garage to the houseboat.
Parking Amsterdam Centraal Station
This parking garage is located at Central Station approximately 10 minutes from the houseboat.

Reviews of this property
We enjoyed everything about our stay location couldn't have been better it's not however for people with agility problems if that's not you give it a try really good
The Captain's Cabin was a dream come true. I wish we could have stayed even longer and I will definitely rent this boat again when we return to Amsterdam! It is perfect for 2 people, in a dream location, the best part of Amsterdam. It truly reminded me of a little cabin in a barge. Comfortable bed, great amenities, and so charming with an easy check in/check out process. Can't wait to return, cheers!
bei der Ankunft waren Handwerker beim Malern auf dem Deck und auch an den anderen Tagen waren Handwerker bis ca. 18.00Uhr tätig; dadurch war immer Farbgeruch und es konnte auch das Deck nicht benutzt werden.
The Captain's Cabin is a fabulous old barge and we had a fabulous time. The stairs are very steep but once inside it is a wonderful old barge. She is moored in the most amazing location as it is quiet at night yet only 5 minutes walk from some of the best bars and restaurants in Amsterdam. The view from the barge is amazing and the bridge lights up at night. There are many sight seeing boats passing and the waving to each other made it so funny.
However, there were some issues. We were not informed that the boat was under renovation and therefore had workmen on the barge during sunny hours and we felt we couldn't go back to the boat and enjoy the deck.
The toilet was a challenge as it was raised up to allow for the pump but the toilet seat wasn't fixed so when you climbed up to use it it moved!
The boat offers TV and WiFi but we didn't have TV channels and the WiFi signal was weak and kept cutting out.
The bed had a sheet with a rubber backing so we sweated like mad at night regardless of windows open etc.
All of the plate ware was plastic showing no indication it could be used in the microwave which was our only source of cooking.
No toilet roll or tea and coffee welcome pack.
We stayed in the captain's cabin in March for three days. The boat was really cute and perfectly located in the centre of Amsterdam. The cabin included everything we needed for a short trip. Nice shower. Toilet a little complicated. The Wifi was very low downstairs. We had to wait 30 minutes in front of the boat until Wendy came to let us in.
All in all: It was a special experience to stay on a house boat. It suits very well for shorter stays when it's not too cold.
