Description
this is a great offer for tourists looking for a temporary place to stay for up to 2-3 weeks: central and well-equipped, friendly, cheaper, safer and way cozier than a hostel
also for those who're in process of looking for a good place to stay long term.
the house is a historical building more than a century old, high ceilings, long halls, with a shade of historical living, not perfectly shiny-ikea kind of neat-international style at all - please do not expect it to look like a hostel or anything purposefully designed for tourists -)
sleeps max 3 - a spacious bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment in the heart of Moscow, to be shared with the owners (we're a couple on the verge of our 30ies, fluent english, friendly and easy going, ready to help out with advice and such, while you're guaranteed your privacy and peaceful environment).
actually we do rent out two bedrooms now, the other even larger and gets more sun, also goest with a TV (Engl.channels), wardrobe and working desk..
usually only one room is for guests, but if your stay overlaps or might overlap with another guest you'd be informed in advance. Both guest bedrooms got locks.
You'll have full access to the kitchen (microwave, cooker, slow juicer, toaster-grill etc) and a fridge, bathroom with a tub (hot water at any time), separated from the WC, laundry mashine, WI-FI.
I might lend you my bike too, we'll see.
A self-sufficient delicate CAT sometimes shares the apartment (IN WINTER) but always sticks to us.
If the cat's not here (summer) dogs are welcome too.
Convenient and central location, safe area, 10 min walk from 4 subway stations/different lines, 15-20 min walk to Kremlin, 10 minutes to Moscow river and the White House and the river boat tours, 10 minutes walk to beautiful Boulveder Ring (Boulvarnoe Koltso) and 15 to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, 10 min to pedestrian touristic artery of Arbat street.
An assortment of eateries around the corner, also a deli next door, a stadium for joggers in 10 min walking.
For vegans - Le Pain Quotidien across the street and a giude through 'vegetarian' spots in Moscow upon request -))
We'll consider stays for up to 14 days, USD 60 per night for a singular guest, USD 80 for two guests in one room.
One room has a bed for a couple, another - same kind of bed and wide foldable armchair in great condition (quite firm and not shaky at all, when unfolded - enough for a normal height adult).
For couples this is cheaper than a room in a hostel, while you get a real big and neat room all to yourselves, and other amenities.
Payment in cash is ok if for some reason wireless payment doesn't work out for you.
We're not ready to host 3 or 4 people, except exceptions -))
(the room from the pictures goes with a bed, empty wardrobe shelves, dressing table and a big mirror, etc).
Enough space for some good old yoga too.
Actually there's another bedroom in the same apartment that's for rent too, but I've got no pictures. It's even larger, goes with a bed, working desk, TV, a lot of sunlight, wardrobe, additional unfoldable armchair for a third person.. So pls be aware that we might offer you this other bedroom instead, too.
Usually we stay in one of the bedrooms and our guests get the other, but this summer we may consider renting out both and staying in the third room ourselves - you'd be properly informed ahead if that's the case.
There's no sitting room in the apartment, and also for safety reasons we'd prefer to not have visitors, or this question (GUESTS OF OUR GUESTS) should be discussed in advance.
We've got a 'work zone' in the third room, with a big desk and a couple of armchairs, we use that area ourselves as we work from home often, but could share sometimes, if you need some 'office environment' or a big desk too.
We're experienced couchsurfers and hosters with more than 6 years at CouchSurfing. *om and used to host for free when we could,
but this is different now, with as much comfort as you could get in a private appartment shared.
We'll sure want to have some details about you before you come to stay with us at our home.
pls contact me via email, and include some info on who you are and what are your plans here (also (website hidden), couchsurfing or any other social network profiles will do).
LOCATION
PLEASE g**glemap the USA Embassy Moscow, our place would be across the street (across the Sadovoe Koltso street).
PS there's a stadium, surrounded by greenery, with a rubber JOGIING PATH open for free 7to22 every day, 10 min walking from us

HORSEBACK RIDING \\ RURAL COUTRYSIDE LIVING EXPERIENCE \\ COUNTRYSIDE RETREAT 'tour'
in case you're interested in getting an experience of real rural Russia, being all safe and not getting too far or deep into the sticks at the same time, here's my favourite place that i'd love to share
it's a farm in the fields on the edge of the woods, close to Volga river
they own 10+ horses, a BORZOI dog kennel, the farm is in a village 250km away from Moscow, which takes 4 hours on a bus (coach) or about 3h driving (we've got a car and visit them now and then)
chicken, geese, cats and all, raw cow milk on the table all day and cottage cheese occasionally, farmer eggs and such for all guests.
a lot of routes to walk in the nature both horseback and by foot
the family that runs the house don't speak English but I love them and the place so much I'd be happy to be your giude there if I have time.
They make their living out of offering countryside weekend retreats = simple food, very simple accomodation and about 2 hours in the saddle included. their usual guests are Russians from Moscow and neighboring small towns, but for a foreigner that could be quite a trip to see how the country side lives
technically, if you get there but decide you'd rather stay the night in a more comfortable place there's a small soviet style hotel in the nearest picturesque historic town of Staritsa 3km away (basically just a bed and hot shower - cause yes, there's no hot shower in the village, once in a while they use their sauna (banya), but it's not as simple as walking into a tub whenever you want to).
village, as I said. rural. tough and beautiful
you're welcome to ask for details about that.
