Our small village house is located on the shores of the beautiful Aegean facing the island of Chios in the village of Ildir (Ancient Erythrai). It is made out of the old stones which built the wall of city of Erythrai 3000 BC, and which is now an open air natural museum full of history. The house has two rooms which have a full view of the sea and the lemon, olive and pomegrenate trees that are in our estate. The house has one bathroom equipped with a shower and also hosts one very small kitchenette area and appliances can be supplied if needed.
The house can host 3 guests and is fully furnished.
In summer time -till november-, you will also have access to the large swimming pool surrounded by exotic trees, with a wonderful sea view. A small beach is located at 50 metres from the property, and from there you can swim to 2 small inhabited islands. There is a diving club in the village and
Ildir is a prime spot for fishing. If you wish, we can arrange a fishing journey with local fishermens and take you to the islands where you can swim, fish and dive.
Declared a heritage site, Erythrai which dates back to 3000BC was re-discovered in 1964 and is set on the hillside above Ildiri, suspended in time. On the hill behind the house, there is a wonderful Hellenistıc theatre and some remains of Agora. In front of the property, you have an open air museum with mosaics from Roman Villas. Up to the acropolis via the amphitheatre which provides a dramatic view of the countryside and coast, you can watch the sunset over Chios before heading back to enjoy a lovely romantic dinner of barbun (red mullet) and raki, the Turkish Ouzo with millions of stars over your head lightening your food.
Ildır, open to winds at all times, acquires stimulant and fresh air with high oxygen pressure with a climate advantage for a long and healthy living. She was even praised by antiquity's Herodotus, for its location "in the most beautiful climate and under the most beautiful sky on earth".
Ildır is also very close to Şifne, Ilıca, Alaçatı (the world famous surfing center) and Çeşme.
Known to be built by Pamphilians, Carians and Lykians, Çeşme is an attraction center with a reputation all over the world. It is one of the major tourist areas of Turkey with its beautiful beaches alongside. Lately it has become a magnet for celebrities, politicians and pop stars. They come to sunbathe and party around the 29km coastline of the Cesme Peninsula, mooring their yachts at the marina, kitesurfing , spa-ing and eating and shopping wherever they can along the way.
The curative thermal springs in Şifne are the best of Turkey. Thermal water springs out of the sea in Şifne region is excellent for health and the mud, existing in the thermal spring exploitations, is used in beauty elixirs. The positive effect of thermal waters to health in Şifne has been proved because of the special location of the sun and wind. Şifne's thermal water has the salty thermal water characteristic and this kind of water has a high percentage of painkilling in diseases like rheumatism and painful muscle and joint diseases.
