Apartment in 15th Century Palazzo

Having just left the apartment today, it is fresh in my memory. First of all, it is VERY hard to find. St. Polo is a big square, and this place, although it says #28, is no where to be found. As my cell phone wouldn't connect to the number we were given, we wandered for ages trying to find it. Finally, a lady going into her apartment called Andrea and he arrived 10 minutes later. It is way off the beaten track. 75 steps up in an ancient Moorish Palace. It was lovely once inside, but, as seniors, was quite a trek. The T.V in the living room didn't work, WiFi was iffy at best, and the heat wouldn't go above 19.5. It was very cold. Also, the door into the flat was often hard to unlock. Andrea came promptly when we called him and was helpful. The bed and sofas were comfortable. No hair dryer, which was annoying, as we are travelling throughout England and Italy with 2 small suitcases. Definitely a great place if you're fit, have good knees and hips, and want a quiet place with character. Otherwise, not. Venice was wonderful. Just wish that we knew about the steps and had much better instructions on finding the place.

Hyggelig lejlighed med super beliggenhed. Vi havde valgt lejligheden ud fra tre krav. Internet, to soveværelser og køkken med ovn. Desværre kunne vi ved ankomsten konstatere at ovnen ikke virkede, hvilket udlejer ikke gjorde noget ved og heller ikke virkede som noget hun havde tænkt sig at gøre noget ved.

Eine hübsche kleine Wohnung, die uns allen sehr gefallen hat.

Ein sehr angenehmes, gut ausgestattetes Apartment, leicht versteckt am Ende einer langen 'calle' hinter dem 'Campo S.Polo'; sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite Gastgeberin; ruhiger Lage hinter der tollen Fassade des Palazzo Bernardo - was für eine Geschichte ! - nicht weit vom lebendigen Gewusel am Fischmarkt. Falls man Lust bekommt, sich selbst in die Küche zu stellen, findet man hier Fisch vom Feinsten, Obst und Gemüse bis in die Nachstunden. Hierhin würde ich gerne zurückkommen, vor allem auch, da man sich sehr angenehm von Touristenströmen ausruhen kann. Nicht im Hotel sondern in diesem Palazzo zu wohnen lies eher ein Gefühl entstehen, für kurze Zeit Teil von dieser wunderbaren Stadt zu sein, einzutauchen !
