Description
The farm, built in 1700 by the noble Florentine Peruzzi family, was purchased by the Marchesi Strozzi Sacrati from Mantua in 1840 and finally by the actual owners, the Lottero family in 1978, from Genoa but since ever in love with Tuscany, who started a complete restoration programme to ensure even better quality to the products.
Since then, the farm has preserved it’s farming traditions devoted to organic cultivation of the vines and olive groves combining to the most authentic and artisanal methods the greatest technologies. In the gardens of the main villa, there is a secular Lebanese cedar tree of over 250 years old, now become the symbol of the farm.
The farm is located on the top of the Montefiesole hill at 450 meters above sea level, only 18 km from Florence. It is a family owned typical tuscan farm situated in the charming landscape of the gentle hills of the Chianti Rufina, rich with vineyards and olive groves, between the towns of Sieci and Pontassieve.
The accomodation is and organic established farm extended on 110 hectares, of which 44 hectares are olive grove, 21 hectares are vineyard, 6 are wheat and 9 are woods, where you can even find truffles! There is also a large productive garden with fruit and vegetables, rabbits and chickens.
Amongst the Estates of a certain size in the Chianti Rufina production area, Fattoria Lavacchio has been the first one to embrace organic growing programs since always researching harmony between its own activity and the natural balance.
While preserving the best organic agricultural and productive traditions, the farm has constantly evolved, combining the traditional methods with the most advanced technology in order to offer products of outstanding excellence.
The farm has been completely redecorated and furnished with great care in order to ensure the most unforgettable and comfortable stay to our guests. With all it’s varied facilities the farm holiday resort offers 4 different vacation possibilities: it is possible to lodge in either comfortable rooms or suites with private bathroom in “Podere Casabella” and “Podere Casanova” or in independent fully equipped
apartments in “Podere Monterifrassine, or in an independent villa “Casa del Mugnaio” with private garden.
The agriturismo has 6 non smoking double rooms or double rooms single use . Rooms have been furnished with great care with typical tuscan country style and like the wines or the olive varietals (from which they get their names), every room has its special “taste”. Each room is provided with private bathroom with shower (hair dryer is in the bathroom), television, direct dial telephone, Wi-fi internet speed connection free of charge, fan, heating and mini-bar, safe box. It is possible to lodge either in the main house “Podere Casabella” where the reception, breakfast room, the swimming-pool, the snack & bar, common lounge with television, library and internet WI-FI are located or retire in the dependence “Casanova” to fully enjoy the quietness of the Tuscan countryside.
