Beautiful Studio in Armadale [Melbourne]

What a great place. Really lives up to the motto, "travel like a local". The apartment is located in a beautiful part of Melbourne, only 20 minutes by tram to the city. It is surrounded by an excellent array of shops, restaurants, bars etc. The apartment, being set back from the street is very quiet and very relaxing. Perhaps the addition of a small microwave to warm the porridge would add to the appeal, however, no complaints at all. Thank you Rudy!

My wife and I arrived in Melbourne from UK , then got the airport shuttle to the city followed by a train to Armadale arriving there about 9.00 am. I went into the High Street and asked 3 different shop keepers where I could find the Beautiful Studios - no-one I spoke to had heard of same! One customer in a café helped me by looking up the web site on his smart phone and produced a mobile number which he rang for me. Rudy answered and said he was on his way to work and couldn't come to the apartment and asked me for a time to meet me at the apartment. He also said he had sent me an e-mail - I was travelling with neither laptop nor smart phone - but on my return to UK have checked my emails and NO there is no email from Rudy. I arranged to meet him at the apartment at 10.00 am and proceeded to find the studios. Well I think I found it and from the High Street the only 'Beautiful ' thing about the apartments is in the name! I can understand why there are strict cancellation penalties. My wife and I were so disappointed by the busy, noisy High Street we decided there and then we didn't want to stay there. We returned to Melbourne on the train and found an Ibis Hotel (Kingsgate Hotel) 5 minutes walk from Southern Cross Railway Station which was actually cheaper than the so-called Beautiful Studios (cost of room plus daily room cleaning charge!!!). All Hotel facilities on site and easy access to the city on the doorstep. Why would anyone want to travel out of the city to a suburb High Street??? I didn't ask for any refunds as I didn't suppose any would be forthcoming! I just put it down to a bad experience. BR

we were really happy by the location and by the localisation, high street is absolutely nice.

We stayed at Rudy’s one week and even longer because it’s been so beautiful. The studio is great, clean, appointed with all facilities you need and very comfortable. The location is just perfect – we loved it. (Thinking about moving there ;-)) You can reach supermarkets, bakery, café, shops, train / trail station within minutes. But still the studio is very quiet, you can’t hear any noise from the street. Lovely people all around. And Rudy is a great hostess. He showed us around, gave us tipps and helped us a lot with getting our car ready for our journey :-) We hope we can come back soon!

Rudy's studio is a delightfully tranquil space hidden away in a great part of Melbourne. It was handy to all of my appointments and is close enough to Citylink to cross town in less than 10 minutes. Perfect for easy airport and Hume freeway access.

Sehr angenehmes, ruhig gelegenes Appartement mit großem Bad. Verkehrstechnisch günstig gelegen (Straßenbahn und Zug). Zugang in der Nacht etwas schummrig. Lichtautomaten, die erst spät angehen. Würde sofort wieder hingehen.

Reasonably quiet, very central to Armadale, clean.! Rudi is helpful. Overall a good experience.
