The Gothic Quarter is located between the famous Ramblas and Via Laietana, Plaza Catalunya across the top and the bottom port.
Portal de L'Angel, a modern pedestrian shopping street who starts in Plaza Catalunya and extends into a pedestrian plaza dominated by the cathedral and the roman walls which previously surrounded the city.
From here all major attractions are within easy reach, such as the Roman remains below the level of the Museum of City History.
