Ximo was a great host! Very nice and agile in adjusting to our schedule changes for the arrival time. He gave us some good advice for local sights worth seeing and some inspiration for where to find good bars and restaurants.
The apartment was really all it promised to be. Quite, pretty and well kept. The wireless LAN was for once actually fast and reliable! The party area is really close but at the same time far away enough to catch some sleep. Definitely the place we'd chose, whenever we should return to Valencia.
We had a lovely stay in Ximo's apartment in Valencia. The pictures show how it really looks and it really is quiet at night - which is a very seldom thing in the center of Valencia in our experience. We really really appreciated the quiet! And our kids really appreciated the Wireless - I hope they did not use up the quota for the entire month. Our interaction with Ximo was uncomplicated, although we could not meet in person due to different schedules. He contacted me a few days before to coordinate times and was very efficient in organising a taxi from and to the airport - thank you for that!
The apartment had everything we needed and we also appreciated that spices, oil, vinegar, coffee, sugar and rice were in the cabinets and drawers. I would suggest adding a bread knife to the collection of implements. We mostly made breakfast and had fruit lunches. Bakery and supermarket as well as fruit stalls are a couple of streets away and if you do not fancy making your own breakfast, there are enough opportunities around the corner to grab a coffee and some sweets. For dinner I recommend the vegetarian restaurant Lluna a few steps away as well as the Lamburguesa for carnivores. For the culturally minded the Museum for modern art as well as the Museum of ethnology are around the corner, the Botanical Garden is just a short walk away and the city center with the cathedral and the central market can be reached in about 7 minutes. For the party goers clubs and bars are about 4 minutes away on foot. Getting to the beach or port involves taking a bus (stop is also just a few minutes away) or walking 10 min to the tram station. The trip takes about 30 minutes. All in all this is a place that we highly recommend. If you can get it go for it! Thank you Ximo!
