Parking your car.
Parking in The Hague is paid almost everywhere. In the street, in front of the house, parking is free from 00.00h until 18.00h. Between 18.00 and 24.00 you have to pay (some 10 euros). For short stays (a few days), the parking meter in front of the house must be used.
For long stays (a month or more) the best thing is to buy a parking permit for one month at Parkeerbeheer Den Haag. This reduces parking costs a lot.
About The Hague: The Hague is a very interesting destination to spend a short stay, or even a holiday, in the Netherlands. In fact it is the second destination after Amsterdam. It's one of the greenest cities in Holland, with many big and interesting parks, musea, lots of places where old and modern architecture meet (looking from the "Plaats" you have an amazing view of the old Parliament Buildings and the spectacular towering new architecture rising behind it), and it is located just on the Dutch seaside with an amazing natural landscape of beaches and dunes.
About the weather. The Hague is a place to be enjoyed with any kind of weather, when the sun shines, its beautiful beaches invite to lay down in its fine sand and to jump in the waves, when it's cloudy or even when it rains, you just prepare your rain suit, take your bike and go for a walk through the dunes and along the beach, to enjoy the spectacular view of the towering skies, chasing clouds, whipping rain, floating seagulls above the North Sea and the dunes, and you will experiment yourself the very landscapes painted by the painters of the The Hague School and that can be admired in the Mesdag Museum in The Hague.
About Public Transport. The Hague has excellent public transport, which brings you in almost no time to Vermeer's Delft, Rembrandt's Leiden, and of course to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Being the seat of the Dutch Government and the residence of the Queen of the Netherlands, The Hague boasts one of Europe's oldest and finest governmental building complexes (The Ridderzaal with the Houses of Parliament around it) and the Royal Palaces Noordeinde and Huis ten Bosch.
Just cross the street and take tram line 2 which will bring you in 6 minutes to Grote Markt, which is the very city center.
However, the best way to go around The Hague is by bike. In the apartment there are 3 bikes (2 ladies bikes and 1 man´s bike). More bikes can be rented at The Hague "Hollands Spoor" Station, where for only 7,50 per day you can rent extra bikes.
