Rotterdam, being one of the most historic and cultural cities in the Netherlands, is a great place to visit if you’re interested in sightseeing. The city proper has a population of around 620,000, though the wider metropolitan region has a population of 2.25 million. There are plenty of districts to choose from, and each one offers something slightly different. If you want an apartment that is exactly in the middle of all of the activity, then the Central District, opposite the central train station, might be the right area for you. With ultra-modern high rise apartment structures, there are plenty of places to choose from. If you want to be closer to the casual shopping and nightlife alternatively, then the Laurenskwartier district may be just perfect for you. If art and culture is more your thing, then head to the vibrant heart of the Rotterdam art scene - the Witte de Withkwartier.
