Wiesbaden is an attractive, historic spa town west of Frankfurt and the capital of the federal state of Hesse. Wiesbaden is one of the oldest spa towns in Europe and fifteen out of twenty-seven of its hot springs are still flowing today. In the 1860s Wiesbaden was popular with a lot of Russian writers and Dostoevsky amassed huge debts at the city’s gambling tables. The town has retained its provincial charm and is the perfect place to go if you want to relax and unwind in southern Germany.
