Ibiza is an island of contrasts and there is something for everyone here. There are three main resorts on Ibiza that are hotspots for the island’s vibrant party scene. Playa d’en Bossa lies on the east coast of the island and boasts a stunning beach and pulsating nightlife. Similarly, San Antonio on the island’s West Coast is home to the world famous sunset strip with its many cafes and shopping district. For a more laidback experience of Ibiza, head to a Wimdu holiday home or Santa Eulalia. The pace of life here is more relaxed - enjoy a pleasant drink in one of the many waterfront bars and restaurants. For those seeking culture, the hilltop district of Dalt Vila in Ibiza Town is well worth exploring. You’ll find some of the Mediterranean’s oldest structures in this part of the town. The Sa Penya district, close to the port and the old city walls, has a great mix of bars, restaurants and small boutiques and is a great way to spend a lazy evening.

Arguably the greatest attraction of Ibiza is the nightlife. The fun never ceases on the island and you’ll find world class clubs, trendy restaurants and enough beach bars to keep you occupied for a long time! Most nightlife is centered around the Port of Ibiza (Puerto de Ibiza) and the West End of San Antonio. There are many great clubs on the island and the clubbing season is marked by huge opening and closing parties. Ibiza also has plenty of good restaurants and eating options too. There are also several Ibizan specialty dishes such as the ‘bullit de peix’ fish dish and ‘borrida de ratjada’, a delicious saffron-potato dish. Ibiza has a famous dessert too – the flaó – which is cream tart containing fresh cheese, eggs and mint. We recommend you visit La Paloma restaurant which serves food containing vegetables grown in its own gardens. S’Illa des Bosc is another beautiful restaurant which overlooks the sheltered bay of Cala Conta.

Many people visit Ibiza for its beautiful landscape. In the summer of 2010, the council launched 13 all-terrain bike routes and 10 road routes at various locations around the island. These routes allow you to see some of the beautiful scenery on the island easily. Ibiza has plenty of cultural history too and not just in the Old Town. It is also famous for its hippie markets which date back to when alternative thinkers originally came to live on the island. You’ll find lots of interesting trinkets, clothing and jewelry at the markets which can be found in the Old Town. The neighbourhood is a UNESCO listed site and a wander through its winding cobbled streets, stopping for frequent drink and people-watching breaks, is the perfect way to recover after the night before. Iconic super-club Pacha is located in Ibiza Town - visit in September when the club hosts the annual DJ Awards, electronic music’s answer to the Oscars.

The Old Town is easy to navigate by foot and you will find you get to know the place quite easily. Taxis are a reliable means of getting around the town and are affordable. Ibiza is less than three hours by plane from many UK airports. Ibiza Airport is the airport serving Ibiza and the smaller island of Formentera and is located just over four miles southwest of Ibiza town. In the summer season buses from Ibiza Airport into Ibiza Town run every 15 minutes. Buses from the airport will also take you to the major resorts on the island and you will find it is quite straightforward to navigate around the island. Formentera island is a good place to go for a day trip and there are frequent boats connecting the island with Ibiza. You can even ride in a boat that will play techno music whilst you travel to make sure that none of the fantastic party lifestyle is missed.
